Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Apple Hand Pies Delight
Ingredients
- 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 0.5 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour until the apples are evenly coated. Set aside for about 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Roll out one pie crust on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 4 even squares.
- Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the apple mixture into the center of each pie crust square, making sure to leave some space around the edges for sealing.
- Fold the pie crust over to create a triangle or rectangle shape, depending on your preference. Press the edges together firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for an added decorative touch.
- Repeat with the second pie crust and remaining apple filling.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the tops of the hand pies with the beaten egg. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar with cinnamon, then sprinkle generously over the tops of the pies.
- Arrange the hand pies in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching. You may need to do this in batches.
- Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Check halfway through and flip the pies for even cooking if needed.
- Once done, let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
