Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 apple any variety, cored and sliced
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • 2 bags tea (black tea or herbal, based on preference)
  • as needed lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add the sliced apple and cinnamon stick to the boiling water, stirring gently.
  3. If using, add the grated ginger to enhance the spiciness and depth of flavor.
  4. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the apple and cinnamon to infuse their flavors into the water.
  5. After 10 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat.
  6. Add the tea bags to the warm apple-cinnamon infusion and steep for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the tea bags, and stir in honey to sweeten your drink, adjusting to your taste.
  8. Strain the tea into your favorite cup, discarding the apple slices and cinnamon stick.
  9. Garnish with a slice of lemon on the rim of the cup for an extra zing and an appealing presentation.
