Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 to taste freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and honey until well combined. This will be the sweet-spicy spread for your croissants.
  3. Carefully slice each croissant in half horizontally, without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the mustard-honey mixture on the inside of each croissant half.
  5. Place 2 slices of deli ham inside each croissant, followed by 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
  6. Close the croissants gently and brush the tops with melted butter to give them a golden finish.
  7. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Optionally, sprinkle fresh chives or parsley on top for a pop of color and added flavor.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy your cheesy ham delights!
