Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants Quick and Tasty Treat
Ingredients
- 4 large croissants
- 8 slices deli ham
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 to taste freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and honey until well combined. This will be the sweet-spicy spread for your croissants.
- Carefully slice each croissant in half horizontally, without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.
- Spread a thin layer of the mustard-honey mixture on the inside of each croissant half.
- Place 2 slices of deli ham inside each croissant, followed by 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
- Close the croissants gently and brush the tops with melted butter to give them a golden finish.
- Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Optionally, sprinkle fresh chives or parsley on top for a pop of color and added flavor.
- Serve warm and enjoy your cheesy ham delights!
