Baked Salmon in Foil with Asparagus and Flavorful Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 fillets salmon (6 oz each)
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon zested and juiced
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried dill (or fresh dill sprigs)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut two large pieces of aluminum foil, approximately 12x18 inches, and place them on a baking sheet.
- In a bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, dill, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. This will be your flavorful sauce.
- On the center of each piece of foil, place a salmon fillet. Surround it with an equal amount of asparagus.
- Drizzle half of the lemon garlic sauce over each salmon fillet and asparagus. Place a few small pieces of butter on top of each fillet.
- Fold the edges of the foil over to create a sealed packet. Ensure there is some space inside for the steam to circulate.
- Place the foil packets on the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon fillets. The salmon should flake easily with a fork when fully cooked.
- Carefully open the foil packets (beware of steam) and transfer the salmon and asparagus to plates. Drizzle any remaining garlic sauce over the top.
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve the salmon and asparagus directly in the open foil, garnished with additional lemon slices and fresh dill for a colorful touch.
