Baked Sweet Potato Chips Crispy and Flavorful Snack
Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) for optional garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer, cut the sweet potatoes into thin, even slices (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil, ensuring they are lightly coated. Add sea salt, smoked paprika, and garlic powder, mixing until evenly distributed.
- Lay the seasoned sweet potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Make sure the slices are not overlapping to ensure even baking.
- Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, checking halfway through to rotate the sheets for even cooking. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning.
- Once the chips are golden and crispy, remove them from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
- If desired, sprinkle with fresh herbs for added flavor and a fresh look. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later.
