Ingredients

  • 3 whole ripe bananas, mashed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 0.25 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and mashed bananas, mixing well until smooth.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Add the baking soda and salt, mix until incorporated.
  5. Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until just blended. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. If using, fold in the chopped walnuts and mini chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

💡 Chef's Notes

Slice the banana bread once cooled and serve it on a wooden cutting board, drizzled with honey or maple syrup for an extra treat, and garnish with banana slices or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Enjoy!
