Bananas Foster Crisp Simple Flavorful Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 pieces ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 0.5 cup brown sugar
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 0.5 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 0.5 cup shredded coconut (optional)
- to taste scoops vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix the sliced bananas with half of the brown sugar (1/4 cup) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Gently toss and set aside to allow the bananas to soften.
- In another large bowl, combine the rolled oats, remaining brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter. Mix until the mixture is well-combined and crumbly.
- Stir in the chopped nuts and shredded coconut, if using.
- Spread the banana mixture evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Top the bananas with the oat mixture, spreading it out evenly across the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
