Beefy Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs Irresistible Snack Idea
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 0.25 cup diced onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- as needed sesame seeds for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the pan.
- In the same skillet, add the diced onions and minced garlic, sautéing until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crispy bacon (reserve some for topping), sautéed onions and garlic, Worcestershire sauce, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Open the biscuit dough and separate it into 8 individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit into a circle (about 4 inches in diameter) on a lightly floured surface.
- Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each flattened biscuit. Carefully fold the edges of the biscuit over the filling and pinch them together to seal completely, forming a ball.
- Place the sealed bombs seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and reserved bacon bits if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuit is golden brown and the beef is cooked through (you can check the internal temperature should reach 160°F or 71°C).
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
