Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza Delight
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (16 oz)
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- to taste fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Once the sausage is cooked, sprinkle the flour over it and stir for about a minute to cook the flour slightly.
- Gradually pour in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens (about 3-5 minutes), then add the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the biscuit dough on a floured surface to form a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Pre-bake the biscuit dough in the oven for 10 minutes to ensure a flaky crust.
- After pre-baking, spread the sausage gravy evenly over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the gravy.
- Crack the eggs directly onto the pizza, spacing them evenly, and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the egg whites are set, and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before garnishing with fresh parsley if desired.
- Slice and serve hot for a delicious breakfast treat!
