- 1 cup caramel sauce (divided)
- 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted, 2 sticks)
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 serving Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the apple pie filling and cinnamon, mixing until well combined.
- Pour the seasoned apple pie filling into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
- Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the apple filling, ensuring it’s well distributed.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the apple mixture. Do not stir; simply layer it on top.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the chopped pecans (if using). Drizzle this mixture evenly over the cake mix layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Once baked, allow the cake to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top of the cake just before serving.
