Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1.3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 piece egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with melted butter, stirring until well incorporated.
  3. Mix in the beaten egg, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix well.
  5. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, stirring just until incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans and caramel sauce, ensuring an even distribution throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, drizzle extra caramel sauce over the top for added sweetness and decoration.
