Ingredients
- 4 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional for quicker caramelization)
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with salt. Stir occasionally, cooking for about 20-25 minutes until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. If you want to speed up the process, you can add the sugar about halfway through.
- Once caramelized, remove the onions from heat and let them cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the cooled caramelized onions until well incorporated.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped chives.
