Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 8 slider buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, halved
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • for garnish lettuce leaves
  • for garnish tomato slices
  • for garnish pickles

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.
  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into slider patties, slightly larger than the buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
  4. Cook the sliders on the preheated grill or skillet for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip, place a cheese half on each patty, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. While the sliders are cooking, prepare the special sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relish, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  6. Toast the slider buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the sliders: Spread a generous amount of the special sauce on the bottom half of each bun, place a slider patty with melted cheese, followed by lettuce, a slice of tomato, and pickles on top.
  8. Finish with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve the sliders on a wooden board with dipping bowls of extra special sauce and pickles on the side. Garnish with fresh herbs for a colorful touch.
