Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or Italian loaf
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the baguette in half lengthwise to create two equal halves.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and well-blended.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the baguette.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese together. Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  6. Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is gooey and bubbly.
  8. For an extra toasty finish, switch the oven to broil for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is golden and slightly crispy—just watch closely to prevent burning!
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Cut the cheesy garlic bread into slices or triangles for easy serving. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
