Ingredients

  • 12 pieces fresh jalapeño peppers, halved and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup crumbled bacon (cooked)
  • 2 pieces green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Carefully spoon the cheese mixture into each halved jalapeño, filling them generously.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with olive oil. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the filled jalapeños, making sure to cover them well for a crispy top.
  6. Place the prepared jalapeño poppers on the lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve on a vibrant platter, garnished with green onions or cilantro. Add a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
