Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • to taste Sour cream and salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef (or turkey) until fully browned. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning, diced tomatoes, and black olives. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into four rectangles (press the seams together to seal).
  4. On each rectangle, place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and a few chopped green onions.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling to create a stick shape and pinch the edges to seal them.
  6. Place the cheesy taco sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of each stick for a golden-brown finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
