Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Fantastic and Simple Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 0.5 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined (do not overmix).
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers look slightly underbaked. They will continue to cook as they cool.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
