Chewy Double Chocolate Banana Bread Delightful Treat
Ingredients
- 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the bowl and mix until well combined.
- Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until fully incorporated.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
- Next, sift in the cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, folding them carefully into the banana mixture.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined—avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
