Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 0.25 cup colorful sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly mix in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
  4. Add the creamy peanut butter to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until well combined and creamy.
  5. Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal to the mixture, stirring gently until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  6. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  7. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  8. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down firmly with a spatula or your hands to create an even layer.
  9. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then cut them into squares or bars.

💡 Chef's Notes

Stack a few squares on a decorative plate and sprinkle extra sprinkles on top for a festive look. Consider wrapping individual treats in cellophane for a cute gift or treat bag idea!
