Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, fresh basil, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  3. Using your hands, form the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Once warmed, lower the heat to simmer.
  6. Once the meatballs are fully cooked, remove them from the oven and gently place them into the simmering marinara sauce.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and cover the pan. Allow the cheese to melt for about 5 minutes.
  8. Serve the Chicken Parmesan Meatballs hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
