Chicken Wonton Tacos Delight: A Fusion Cuisine Experience
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup finely chopped bell peppers (red, yellow, and green)
- 0.5 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 package square wonton wrappers
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 0.25 cup cilantro, chopped
- to taste lime wedges for serving
- 0.33 cup mayonnaise mixed with 1 tablespoon sriracha for drizzling
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked, and there’s no pink color.
- Mix in the bell peppers, green onions, soy sauce, and stir well. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened. Remove from heat.
- To assemble the tacos, take one wonton wrapper, hold it in your hand and cup it to create a taco-like shape. Use a small spoonful of the chicken mixture to fill the wrapper.
- In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry filled wonton wrappers for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Once they’re finished, fill the fried wonton tacos with a handful of shredded cabbage. Drizzle spicy mayo on top and garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side for an added zesty twist.
