Ingredients

  • 2 whole ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 0.25 cup almond milk or any milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch sea salt
  • to taste fresh berries for garnish (optional)
  • to taste mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, add the ripe avocados that have been peeled and pitted.
  2. Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), almond milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt to the processor.
  3. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure everything is well combined.
  4. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more maple syrup or honey.
  5. Once you have achieved a silky consistency, transfer the mixture into serving bowls or cups.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to meld and the mousse to firm up slightly.
  7. Before serving, garnish with fresh berries and mint leaves for a pop of color and flavor.
