Ingredients

  • 2 whole ripe bananas, frozen
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1 quarter teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 handful ice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and place them in a blender. Start with the almond milk to ensure the blender runs smoothly.
  2. Add the frozen bananas, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt.
  3. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, add the handful of ice.
  4. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if necessary.
  5. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness by adding more honey or syrup if desired. Blend again if you make any adjustments.
  6. Pour the smoothie into tall glasses and enjoy immediately.
