Ingredients

  • 15 oz Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup chocolate pudding mix
  • 2.75 cups milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 0 none Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter. Mix until well-blended. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to create a crust layer. Chill in the fridge for about 10 minutes to set.
  2. Cream Cheese Layer: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined and creamy. Fold in 2 cups of the whipped topping gently until the mixture is smooth. Spread this cream cheese layer over the chilled Oreo crust.
  3. Chocolate Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and 2 ¾ cups of milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens. Carefully spread this layer over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
  4. Final Whipped Layer: Spread the remaining whipped topping over the chocolate pudding layer evenly, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  5. Chill and Set: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the layers to set properly.
  6. Garnish: Before serving, sprinkle the top with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for an elegant touch. Slice into squares and serve chilled.
