Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars Decadent Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
- 0.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 0.5 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg until fully incorporated. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Press the chocolate dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to create a base. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove and let it cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, vanilla extract, and the remaining egg until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 1 hour. Once cooled, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper and slice them into squares.
💡 Chef's Notes
For best results, allow the bars to cool completely before slicing.
