Ingredients

  • 3 whole ripe avocados
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 whole jalapeño, deseeded and minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 whole limes, juiced
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Using a fork, mash the avocado to your desired level of chunkiness—leave some pieces intact for texture.
  3. Add the finely chopped red onion, diced tomato, minced jalapeño, and minced garlic to the bowl.
  4. Sprinkle in the chopped cilantro, squeezed lime juice, and cumin powder (if using).
  5. Gently mix all ingredients together until just combined.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  7. Serve immediately or cover tightly with plastic wrap to minimize browning (pressing the wrap directly onto the guacamole).
