Cinnamon Apple Pie Parfaits Delightful Dessert Layers
Ingredients
- 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup granola
- 2 cups vanilla yogurt
- 0.5 cup whipped cream (optional)
- 1 pinch nutmeg (optional)
- to taste fresh mint leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar.
- Stir to combine and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the apples are tender but still hold their shape. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In serving glasses or bowls, layer 1/4 cup of yogurt at the bottom.
- Add a layer of 1/4 of the apple mixture over the yogurt.
- Follow with a layer of granola, using about 2 tablespoons.
- Repeat the layers (yogurt, apple mixture, and granola) until the glasses are filled, finishing with yogurt on top.
- If desired, add a dollop of whipped cream on the very top, and sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg for added flavor.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and freshness.
