Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup granola
  • 2 cups vanilla yogurt
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream (optional)
  • 1 pinch nutmeg (optional)
  • to taste fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  2. Stir to combine and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the apples are tender but still hold their shape. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In serving glasses or bowls, layer 1/4 cup of yogurt at the bottom.
  4. Add a layer of 1/4 of the apple mixture over the yogurt.
  5. Follow with a layer of granola, using about 2 tablespoons.
  6. Repeat the layers (yogurt, apple mixture, and granola) until the glasses are filled, finishing with yogurt on top.
  7. If desired, add a dollop of whipped cream on the very top, and sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg for added flavor.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and freshness.

💡 Chef's Notes
