Ingredients

  • 4 slices brioche bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • to taste maple syrup
  • to taste fresh berries
  • to taste powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined and frothy.
  2. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan.
  3. Dip each slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are thoroughly soaked but not overly soggy.
  4. Place the soaked brioche slices onto the hot skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. You may need to adjust the heat to prevent burning.
  5. Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and keep warm while you repeat the process with the remaining slices.
  6. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup, a sprinkle of powdered sugar, and a handful of fresh berries on the side for a delicious garnish.

💡 Chef's Notes

For a dairy-free option, use almond milk.
