Cowboy Butter Garlic Bread: A Rustic Delight
Ingredients
- 1 large loaf rustic sourdough bread
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

- 0.25 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well blended.
- Cut the sourdough bread in half lengthwise, creating two equal pieces.
- Generously spread the cowboy butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Use a spatula or knife to ensure an even coating.
- Place the buttered bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the buttered surfaces.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before cutting.
