Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes Delightful and Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 0.5 cup cream cheese, softened
- 0.5 cup whole milk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- to taste salt and pepper
- for garnish fresh chives, chopped
Instructions
- Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Add a generous pinch of salt and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- While the potatoes are cooking, in a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic and butter, cream cheese, and milk to the pot.
- Using a potato masher, mash the mixture until smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency with additional milk if desired, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once fully combined, transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving bowl and sprinkle with freshly chopped chives for garnish.
