Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • as needed Cooked pasta of your choice (e.g., fettuccine, linguine)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, making sure not to burn it.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  5. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  6. Remove from heat and toss in the cooked pasta, ensuring it's well coated with the sauce.
  7. Plate the creamy garlic shrimp pasta and sprinkle with fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve in a shallow bowl or plate, drizzling any remaining sauce over the top and adding a sprinkle of Parmesan and parsley for an elegant touch. Enjoy with a slice of crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce!
