Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 slices crusty bread (like ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush both sides of the crusty bread slices with olive oil. Place them on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream, scraping down the pan to incorporate all the flavors. Bring to a simmer and then add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Stir the cooked shrimp back into the skillet with the creamy sauce. Mix well to ensure that each shrimp is coated.
  7. Spoon the creamy garlic shrimp mixture generously over the toasted bread slices.
  8. Top with chopped fresh parsley for added flavor and color.
