Crispy Baked Chicken Tenders Easy and Tasty Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 bunch fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a medium bowl, soak the chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes; this will help keep them moist and tender.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs. Drizzle olive oil over the breadcrumbs and mix until evenly coated.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and shake off excess liquid. Dredge each piece first in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in the egg wash, and finally coat well with panko breadcrumbs.
- Arrange the coated chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they aren’t touching.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tenders are golden brown and have an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
