Ingredients

  • 15 oz canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the chickpeas dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove excess moisture. This is key for achieving crispiness!
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpeas, olive oil, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until all chickpeas are well-coated.
  4. Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have space to crisp up.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Once done, remove the chickpeas from the oven and let them cool slightly. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
  7. Serve the crispy buffalo chickpeas warm, garnished with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
