Delicious Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes Quick Dinner Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper finely chopped
- 1 cup canned diced tomatoes (with juices)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 0 Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 0 Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes or until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Use a spatula to break it up as it cooks. Cook until it's browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, stirring well to evenly coat the chicken mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until it thickens slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- While the mixture is simmering, toast your hamburger buns until golden brown.
- Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture generously onto each toasted bun.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
