Ingredients

  • 2 cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the drained and rinsed cannellini beans to the pan and stir gently.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the beans and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the saucepan and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or pepper as desired.
  7. Once heated through, remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes to thicken slightly.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
