Easy Aloo Keema Flavorful Indian Dish to Relish
Ingredients
- 500 g minced meat (lamb or chicken)
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 2 medium green chilies, slit (adjust to taste)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 0.5 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- to taste salt
- for garnish fresh coriander leaves
- 0.5 cup water (add more if needed)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and golden brown. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Incorporate the chopped tomatoes and green chilies into the mixture. Cook until the tomatoes soften, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced meat to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the potatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the potatoes and the meat with the spices.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to low, cooking until the potatoes are tender and have absorbed the flavors, about 15-20 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, sprinkle garam masala over the top and gently mix. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
