Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped
  • for serving lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter is melted and hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and stir well to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.
  5. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the cream, stirring continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss in the creamy sauce until they are fully coated. Let the mixture simmer for another minute to heat through.
  7. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.
