Easy Croissant Bake Breakfast Casserole Delight
Ingredients
- 6 large buttery croissants, torn into pieces
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or diced ham
- 0.5 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 0.25 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- optional hot sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Add the torn croissant pieces to the egg mixture and gently fold to coat, allowing them to soak for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the shredded cheese, cooked sausage or ham, cherry tomatoes, and chopped herbs. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour the entire mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is puffed and golden brown on top. A knife inserted should come out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with hot sauce for an extra kick.
