Easy Stromboli Dinner Quick and Tasty Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 2 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 2 cup bell peppers, diced (red and green)
- 1 2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 4 cup black olives, sliced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- to taste salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the marinara sauce evenly on the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella, provolone, bell peppers, mushrooms, red onion, and black olives. Add the Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
- Sprinkle the cheese and veggie mixture over the marinara sauce.
- Carefully roll the dough from one long side to the other, creating a tight log. Pinch the edges to seal the filling inside.
- Place the rolled stromboli seam side down on a lined baking sheet.
- Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Using a sharp knife, make a few slits on the top of the stromboli to allow steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
