Frosted Meatloaf Recipe Delicious and Easy to Make
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 0.25 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 0.5 cup milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.25 cup ketchup
- 0.25 cup barbecue sauce
- 0.5 cup cream cheese, softened
- 0.25 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and shape it into a loaf, about 2 inches thick.
- In a separate bowl, mix the ketchup and barbecue sauce. Spread half of the mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the frosting by mixing the softened cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl until smooth.
- Once the meatloaf is cooked, remove it from the oven. Allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before spreading the cream cheese frosting over the top using a spatula.
- Drizzle the remaining ketchup and barbecue sauce mixture over the frosted meatloaf for an extra burst of flavor.
- Top with chopped fresh chives for an added touch of flavor and color. Slice and serve warm.
💡 Chef's Notes
Allow the meatloaf to cool slightly before frosting for best results.
