Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh scallops, cleaned
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the garlic butter sauce.
  3. Place the cleaned scallops in the greased baking dish, ensuring they are arranged in a single layer.
  4. Pour half of the garlic butter sauce over the scallops, making sure each scallop is well coated.
  5. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the scallops, followed by the remaining garlic butter sauce to moisten them.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the scallops are cooked through and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with extra chopped parsley and lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the scallops.

💡 Chef's Notes

For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs.
