Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 lime zest of
  • for garnish fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Season the sliced flank steak with salt, pepper, and half of the red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak slices in a single layer, cooking for 3-4 minutes until browned. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the steak is cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet along with the cooked steak. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, lime zest, and the rest of the red pepper flakes. Toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated in the sauce and heated through.
  6. Stir in the chopped green onions, mixing them evenly throughout the dish. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Plate the Garlic Butter Steak Lightning Noodles hot, garnished with fresh cilantro on top. Add more green onions if desired.
