Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 unit zest of lemon
  • 1 unit juice of lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets and minced garlic.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the broccoli and garlic, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss to coat well.
  4. Spread the broccoli mixture in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and slightly crispy on the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the roasted broccoli with grated Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Toss gently to combine and allow the cheese to melt slightly.
  7. Serve warm as a side dish or over cooked grains for a hearty meal.
