Garlic Pasta Recipes Simple and Quick to Prepare
Ingredients
- 12 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 0.5 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably homemade)
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for taste)
- 0.25 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lemon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine or spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until the garlic is golden brown and fragrant.
- In a separate pan, toast the breadcrumbs over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil, stirring frequently until golden brown and crunchy, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce. Stir in lemon juice and zest for freshness, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Gently fold in the toasted breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese (if using) until well combined. Finally, stir in the chopped parsley.
- Plate the garlic pasta and garnish with extra parsley and a sprinkle of lemon zest.
