Ham and Cheese Croissant Bake Tasty and Simple Dish
Ingredients
- 6 large buttery croissants, sliced in half
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 1.5 cups shredded Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 0.5 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the bottom of the dish with the sliced croissant halves, placing them cut-side up for optimal cheese melting.
- Evenly distribute the diced ham over the croissant halves, followed by a layer of shredded Swiss cheese.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered croissants, ensuring that all croissant pieces are soaked in the egg mixture.
- Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, allowing the croissants to absorb the liquid.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg is fully set.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving for a pop of color and flavor.
💡 Chef's Notes
Letting the croissants soak in the egg mixture enhances the flavor and texture.
