Ingredients

  • 6 large buttery croissants, sliced in half
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 1.5 cups shredded Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the bottom of the dish with the sliced croissant halves, placing them cut-side up for optimal cheese melting.
  3. Evenly distribute the diced ham over the croissant halves, followed by a layer of shredded Swiss cheese.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered croissants, ensuring that all croissant pieces are soaked in the egg mixture.
  6. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, allowing the croissants to absorb the liquid.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg is fully set.
  8. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving for a pop of color and flavor.

💡 Chef's Notes

Letting the croissants soak in the egg mixture enhances the flavor and texture.
