Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cooked ham, chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives (optional)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to smoothen it. Cut the pastry into 4 equal squares.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped ham, softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, Dijon mustard, and chives. Mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place a generous spoonful of the ham and cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry square over the filling, pinching them together to create a sealed packet. Optionally, you can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative finish.
  6. Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden color while baking.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve warm on a rustic wooden board, garnished with fresh chives or parsley for a pop of color.
