Homemade Cinnamon Rolls Recipe Simple and Delicious
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed to about 110°F (43°C)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for spreading)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 2-4 tablespoons milk (for frosting consistency)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Slowly add the remaining flour, one cup at a time, until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches).
- Spread the softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border. Then, sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the butter.
- Starting from the longer side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal.
- Cut the log into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife or dental floss for clean cuts.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the rolls rise.
- Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Meanwhile, prepare the frosting by whisking together powdered sugar and enough milk to achieve your desired consistency.
- Once the rolls are done baking, allow them to cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the frosting over the top.
