Honey Cake with Almonds and Apple Flavor Delight
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 0.5 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped apples
- 0.5 cup sliced almonds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, rolled oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat together the honey, applesauce, oil, and eggs until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and mix.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped apples and sliced almonds to the batter, making sure they are evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle additional sliced almonds on top for garnish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
