Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste salt
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • to taste sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, sesame oil, black pepper, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a large baking dish, skin-side up. Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  5. After 25 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven, brush with the remaining sauce, and return it to the oven. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and has an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Once done, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving for a pop of color and crunch.

💡 Chef's Notes
